Icelandair starts route to Faroe Islands

Icelandair will further expand its route network with a new destination: The Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands, an archipelago located in the Scotland-Norway-Iceland triangle in the North Atlantic Ocean, are growing in popularity as a destination for their spectacular scenery, hospitality and local cuisine.

Icelandair not only flies to the Faroe Islands, but has also signed a letter of intent for cooperation with the Faroese airline Atlantic Airways. Together they provide convenient connections between the Faroe Islands and destinations in Europe and North America.

Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, comments on the new destination: “The Faroe Islands is a beautiful destination and we have noticed that there is great interest from our customers to visit and experience it. That is why we are very happy to announce the Faroe Islands as a new destination. The bond between the people of the Faroe Islands and Iceland has always been strong and we hope that with a flight connection this will become even stronger. In that spirit, we are now working to expand our successful long-term partnership with Atlantic Airways.”
Jóhanna á Bergi, CEO of Atlantic Airways, adds: “At Atlantic Airways, our mission is to connect the beautiful Faroe Islands. For the past several decades, we have worked with Icelandair to connect the Faroe Islands with Iceland. This partnership makes the paving the way for even better connectivity to Iceland and other destinations within Icelandair’s extensive network.
